Tips, Comments and Questions

Tips

*  Prewashing fabric not only removes the risk of bleeding or shrinkage but also makes it easier to work with.

*  Consistency in stitch gauge is imperative.  Work on getting every stitch the same.

*  Check your rug frequently for flatness.  Correct any problems immediately.

*  All rugs look weird to begin with.  Keep going.

*  Rug start is done using a half hitch.  The nature of this stitch is to spiral.  That's normal.  Keep going.

*  Never mix fabric types.  100% cotton works best.

Practice is the best of all instructors.
